Personal Update

Welcome to our first issue of "Success Tips"!

We've been pretty busy the past few weeks getting everything up and running smoothly for Your Success Club. Things have progressed well - although I admit it would be perfect by now if we both had 100% of our time to work on Your Success Club.

There's still minor tweeks and adjustments that need to be made, but once we find our rhythm it should be smooth sailing from then on.

Incase you haven't had time to read the blog post, we have set up a team at Kiva for everyone to join.

If you are already a member, please join the team at www.Kiva.org/team/YourSuccessClub. If you aren't already a member at Kiva, feel free to sign up and start micro lending to make a difference in someone's life.

Please let us know if you find any problems on the website so that we can add it on to our list of things to do by emailing us at

Until the next issue,

Selina Lai

Success Tip

Today's success tip comes from Terry Hawkins.

Over the past 18 years, Terry has built a reputation for heading up one of the most innovative, dynamic and successful training companies in Australia. She is also one of the most in-demand female speakers in Australia and New Zealand.

Why are the words we say to ourselves so powerful?

Whatever we say to ourselves, our unconscious mind believes. So when we say 'I can't do this' or 'I'm no good at something' our unconscious mind believes us. Most of us are completely unaware of the language that we use, therefore we create negative outcomes.

For example, statistics show that on average 75 per cent of the communication in a relationship is negative and only 25 per cent is positive. I think this is because we get into the habit of speaking in a negative manner. After a while we stop paying attention to what we say to those we love, and how we say it.

I think we become very conditioned to negative language and stop noticing the damage it causes. Years later we wonder why we don't love each other anymore. Test it for yourself. Ask someone how he or she is. Chances are they will reply with, 'Not bad', 'Getting there', 'I've been better' or something similar.

A Sense Of Urgency

When Patrick Bright discovered that wealthy people owned real estate, he decided to learn how to build houses. He later realised that he didn't need to build houses, just buy and sell them, so he became a real estate agent. After becoming disenchanted by the industry, Patrick found himself locating and buying property on behalf of friends and before he knew it he was buying homes, investments and commercial properties. Patrick helped pioneered the relatively new field of real estate buyers' agents in Australia, and has personally negotiated the purchasing of several hundred properties for himself and clients.
